SEASON
June through late September

Mission can accommodate up to 20 fishing guests per week

SPECIES
Rainbow trout, Dolly Varden, artic char, artic grayling, pike, and all five species of Pacific salmon

GENERAL INFORMATION
Mission Lodge is hands down one of the nicest, best-run operations anywhere in Alaska. In a region that is loaded with fishing options, Mission Lodge's fishing program covers an area up to 120 miles in any direction with the use of three DeHavilland Beaver float planes.

LENGTH OF STAY
Standard package is a six fishing day / seven night package.

THE FISHING
The Bristol Bay region has the largest salmon runs in the world, and the sheer numbers of fish that this area supports is mind-boggling. Depending on the time of the season that you choose, you can find all five species of Pacific salmon (kings, silvers, sockeyes, chums and pinks) along with trophy rainbow trout, dolly varden, arctic char, arctic grayling, northern pike, lake trout and sheefish. Over the course of a standard week, you can expect to fish a great variety of waters, from small creeks and streams to large rivers. Because the lodge maintains outpost camps with boats scattered throughout the region, and because of the variety of waters accessed and exclusive use permits held by Mission (the Upper Togiak perhaps?) you will have daily access to the best fishing the region has to offer. Each day of fishing is based solely on the desire of the anglers, and your fishing itinerary is decided and discussed each evening with the lodge's outstanding guide staff. A typical day of fishing at the lodge consists of a departure around 8:00 AM and a return time around 6:00 PM. These times can change on either end, however, as your schedule is completely up to you and your group.

Speaking of the lodges guide staff, we can tell you that Mission's crew is among the very finest we have found in Alaska. In an area that typically sees a high degree of seasonal turnover, it is not unusual for Mission's guides to be back at the lodge for their seventh, eigth, or even tenth year. The guys are true professionals that know the area and know how to cater to anglers of all levels and abilities.

BOATS AND EQUIPMENT OFFERED
Three DeHavilland Beavers on floats provide fishing access throughout the region. The lodge also utilizes a large fleet of aluminum boats equipped with Yamaha jet motors - some based at the lodge itself, and many others strategically scattered throughout the region on numerous rivers.

THE LODGING
The facilities at Mission are beautiful. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bar area, dining room and common areas are exactly what you would expect from a high-end Alaska lodge. When it comes to amenities, guest comfort, and customer service, the owner, managers and staff of Mission truly leave no stone unturned. Meals are prepared by a world-class kitchen staff and the dinner menu may include entrees such as you would find in the finest restaurants in any U.S. city. Lunches will be pre-packed, or – if you really want a true Alaskan experience – can include a shore lunch of fresh cooked fish. Mission Lodge has been serving guests since 1984, and their attention to detail has set the standard that others throughout Alaska try to attain. The lodge offers wireless internet access as well as a guest computer station.

For non-anglers, the lodge offers a variety of other activities including scenic flights, wildlife viewing, boat tours, and seasonal bird hunting. The lodge staff is fantastic about accommodating non-anglers and family members.

OTHER INFORMATION
While the pure beauty of Southwest Alaska is reason enough to visit here, to the avid anglers the world over, the Bristol Bay area is synonymous with world class sport fishing. Starting in June and running all the way through to September, this region is teaming with all five species of Pacific Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Artic Char, Dolly Varden, Artic Grayling, Lake Trout, and Northern Pike. From trophy rainbows to tackle-busting Kings, Mission Lodge is ideally located to fulfill all of your angling dreams.

This area of Alaska abounds with wildlife. Mission guests frequently have photo opportunities that can easily create "pictures of a lifetime." From special trips to view and photograph the famous “Brooks Bears” to a rare view of hundreds of Walrus living on remote St. Paul Island. Every week, chances are good that you'll see Caribou roaming the Mulchatna, Nuyakuk, and Nushagak river drainages. Caribou travel hundreds of miles each year in their migration to and from their calving grounds.
