LOCATION
Tierra Del Fuego Region - Chile

SEASON
November through April

CAPACITY
The lodge can hold up to six anglers per week

SPECIES
Wild, pure strains of sea-run browns

GENERAL INFORMATION
The characteristics of the area are similar to that of Alaska, but more dramatic since wild forests, pristine rivers, and ice-blue glaciers are all compressed into a narrow strip located between the peaks of the Andes and the Pacific Ocean.

LENGTH OF STAY
All trips at Heart of the Andes Lodge are Monday to Monday, and include six days of fishing.

THE FISHING
You can start your day from your door step at the lodge, chasing the large trout of Lake General Carerra. From there, you can board the floatplane or boat and off you go in search of solitude, sighted fish, and unforgettable views. From Heart of the Andes Lodge, you can fish for brown trout, rainbow trout, large brookies, king salmon, silver salmon, and sea run browns - all in the same week!

The lodge uses both airplanes and jet boats to give you access to the true Patagonian wilderness. During your week at the lodge, you will have the option of fishing spring creeks, incredibly clear freestone rivers, fjords, lakes, and the largest river in Chile - the Baker. And for those who are seeking a hard-core, trout-focused experience, you can opt for nights at a remote camp where your chances of hooking up with a large fish that has never been hooked before are excellent. There are over a dozen different rivers and over a half dozen lakes to fish - all in close proximity to the lodge. The guides at the lodge are bilingual, and all are excellent instructors and teachers. Each day, the lodge will provide a packed lunch and drinks on the water, as well as a hot shore lunch upon request.

BOATS AND EQUIPMENT OFFERED
Heart of The Andes Lodge makes use of two different airplanes, a Cessna 206 float plane and a Twin engine Aztec. They use flat bottomed jet boats (like those in Alaska,) and have vehicles for close-to-home fishing or when the weather does not permit flying. Bringing your own flies and terminal tackle is always recommended, however the guides will also provide flies when needed.

THE LODGING
With the lodge sitting directly on the banks of Lake General Carerra, the views from your room and the lodge itself are unmatched. Each guest or group of guests will have their own cabin with two queen size beds, private bathroom, and a living room with a fireplace. The main lodge has a bar, dining table, bar tables, a pool table, and lounge couches situated around the large fireplace.

The lodges bi-lingual guides can arrange fun-filled and interesting activities and experiences for the non-fishing angler. More relaxing pursuits include wine-tasting, bird-watching, local shopping, massage, cultural tours, and photography safaris.
