GENERAL INFORMATION
Located in southwest Colorado, the 4UR is a premier family guest ranch with fantastic private fishing on the famed Rio Grande River and Goose Creek. The ranch boasts a wealth of family oriented activities in addition to great fishing, comfortable accommodations, and delicious meals.

LENGTH OF STAY
Standard package is six days and seven nights. Reservations for less than one week are not accepted from June 20 to August 14. There is a 10% discount for stays of two weeks or more.

THE FISHING
The fishing at the 4UR Ranch is not only excellent, but it is done in such a way as to make it completely relaxing and laid back. Ranch waters are divided into twenty "stations" –very similar to the English “beat” system for fishing private waters. Each evening as dinner winds down, the ranch manager escorts a shake bottle from table to table to conduct the evening lottery. The winner chooses the 1/3 mile station he would prefer to fish the next morning. Other anglers follow until the lowest lottery draw selects. In the afternoon, the order is reversed. This assures every angler will get a chance to fish alone on prime water every day. Of the twenty stations that are drawn for, fifteen are marked off along Goose Creek as it twists and turns its way through the valley. Four stations are on the famous Rio Grande, and "Beat 20" is high in the Weminuche Wilderness. Goose Creek holds generous numbers of rainbows, browns, Snake River cutthroat, cut-bow hybrids, and brookies in its higher reaches. You can also take a day trip above timberline to the Lost Lakes, which provide great stillwater fishing for native cutthroat. Ranch waters are catch and release, fly-fishing only, except for Walton Pond, which also happens to be great fun for kids. Bring your dry fly rod. You can use it here every month of the summer season!

BOATS AND EQUIPMENT OFFERED
All fishing on Goose Creek is wade fishing. The ranch utilizes a variety of drift boats and rafts for floating the Rio Grande and other area rivers. The ranch also has a full-service tackle shop that sells and rents equipment.

THE LODGING
Lodging at the 4UR Ranch is divided amongst several unique structures on the property. Each lodging option is named after one of the famous local mines that spurred one of the last great silver mining rushes in Western history. Each day, a bucket of ice is prepared and left by your door so you can while away the late afternoon with a cool beverage until the dinner bell rings. Rooms in the various lodges on the ranch property are spacious and inviting. You'll have plenty of space inside and lots of legroom on your porch. Showers are hot, and the water pressure is invigoratingly strong. While evenings are brisk in the mountains, you'll be cozy under the covers. Dawn will awaken both your body and your soul, as every new day brings another set of 4UR adventures.

The number of nights lodging specified in your package, private flyfishing, three meals per day, and most ranch activities.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED
State and local taxes of 6.8% (added to rates above), and an 18% service charge to cover incidental gratuities.

DEPOSIT INFORMATION
A 50% deposit (per angler) of the total package cost for each trip is due to us within 10 days of booking to secure the reservation. Guides and dates cannot be held or reserved without a deposit. YDFA reserves the right to charge a handling fee of $100 per person for date changes after the initial reservation has been made. Full payment is due 90 days prior to departure.

HOW TO GET THERE
The nearest commercial airport is Gallatin Field, located in Bozeman, Montana. Serviced by Delta, Northwest, United, Frontier, and Horizon Airlines, the airport is just 15 minutes from the Gallatin River Lodge.  You will be picked up by the manager of G.R.L. whenever your flight arrives and taken directly to G.R.L.

NON-ANGLING ACTIVITIES
The horse program at the 4UR rivals in every way the fantastic fly fishing! The horses are savvy mountain trail horses, sure footed and well-mannered. Trails snake up into the mountains in almost every direction from the valley floor. The ranch offers short, comfortable rides, long all-day rides, and just about everything else in between. You can explore the surrounding National Forest, climb up draws to incredible vistas, amble through aspen and pine woods, and cross high meadows overrun with wildflowers. Wildlife viewing can be fantastic, with elk, deer, birds, bears, moose and many other species calling the area home. Other activities include trap shooting, sporting clays, swimming, soaking in the natural hot springs, hiking, jogging, mountain biking and exploring. You can take a quick trip into the nearby town of Creede, one of the very last boom towns to spring up in Colorado. Guests of the 4UR also enjoy membership privileges at the Rio Grande Club, an exclusive golf, swimming, and tennis facility in nearby South Fork, Colorado.
